LibCon Brings People Together Last month, Chandler Libraries hosted LibCon, filled with popular fandom-themed programs for all ages. In fact, over 200 people attending Harry Potter programs at the Downtown Library, and nearly 150 kids "trained" to be superheroes at Hamilton! Our Heroes and Villains Puzzle Competition was also popular. The winning team - two Coolidge residents who came to compete for Downtown, and met each other for the first time during the competition - finished their puzzle in 47 minutes! In-n-Out Burger Spring Reading Program Has Ended! Parents and kids! The Spring Reading program ended on April 13, but you have until Saturday April 20 to turn in your reading log and receive your Achievement Award Cards for a free hamburger (while supplies last)! And if you enjoyed this program, watch for our upcoming Summer Reading Challenge! Registration opens May 1! Solar Eclipse Fun Chandler Libraries were excited to be part of the solar eclipse event on April 8. Over 600 teens and kids participated in various activities and used solar telescopes at Hamilton Library and on campus, while nearly 200 people came out to Basha Library for the Family Solar Eclipse Science event. Tax Assistance 2024 Sessions Wrap Up The libraries provided free tax preparation assistance to over 1,650 individuals through the first months of 2024, in partnership with VITA and AARP. These services assist those in lower income brackets and often are a great resource to seniors. |
