Community Connections

Over the past month, the library joined in Chandler Contigo, the City's annual celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. At our Kick-Off event, over 2,300 people joined us at the Downtown Library to experience cultural dancing and music, Lucha Libre (masked wrestling) demonstrations, art activities, free giveaways and more. We gained many new library card holders as well! Special thanks to the City of Chandler Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Division, Intel and Someburros for their support.

The library also offered other Hispanic cultural celebrations and programs during the month, with over 1,250 people attending these family-friendly activities.

Season of Sharing

Come to any Chandler Library location on November 3 during regular hours to pick up a special Holiday Card for Seniors Grab & Go activity kit. To celebrate the season of sharing, each kit will have the supplies you need to create one-of-a-kind cards for a homebound seniors. You can involve your whole family in this kindness project. Create your cards and return to your library by December 3rd, 2023. The holiday cards will be distributed to assisted living facilities in Chandler, Tempe, Ahwatukee and Winslow, Arizona.
