Community Connections

Free Summer Lunches Program for Kids Has Been a Success!
This summer, Chandler Public Library's Downtown location partnered with CUSD Food Services and the Summer Food Service Program to be a site for free lunches for ages 18 and under. The program so far has provided over 1100 meals for local children, along with the opportunity to check out books and participate in fun programs. The initiative ends on Wednesday, July 18. More Summer Events
We're also providing programs for special populations. Hamilton Memory Cafe offers a comfortable and engaging place for people living with memory loss along with their caregivers to meet with others in a similar situation. The program is at 10:00 am on the second Friday of every month at Hamilton Library, and includes fun and creative activities.

Join us at Chandler Downtown Library at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 29 for All Together Family Storytime: Disability Pride Month. Enjoy song, dance, and stories for all ages. Disability Pride Month initially started to honor the Americans with Disabilities Act. It celebrates and remembers the history, achievements, and experiences of the disability community.

Learn Something New in Your Community
Come to the Downtown Library for Mahjong For Beginners, July 17 at 5:30 pm or July 22 at 1:00 pm. Join experienced players who will introduce you to this popular cultural game with roots in China, and is now a worldwide trend. Learn the setup, rules, and basic strategy!

Have you visited the Makery yet? Here is your opportunity to head to our Downtown Library maker space and check out the technology and tools we offer as free resources! The lab includes a 3-D printer, laser cutter, Cricut Maker, and sewing machines. Makery Lab: What's Inside is Wednesday, July 19 at 5:30 pm.
