Summer Reading is Here!

It's June, and you know what that means! The Summer Reading Challenge is on!

Centered around kindness, friendship, and unity, this year's theme "All Together Now" comes with endless opportunities to explore Chandler Public Library through activities, programs, books, and more. Earn prizes and connect with other book lovers while celebrating your love of reading and learning.

The goal is to earn 1000 points! Get there by reading 20 minutes a day, attending library events, and tackling other simple challenges. Prizes are awarded at the 500, 750, and 1000-point levels!

Rachelle's Reads: "What Remains" by Wendy Walker

Chandler Public Library Director Rachelle Kuzyk features this soon-to-be-released suspense novel for her book review segment!

Pick up What Remains by Wendy Walker for one of your summer reads. Detective Elise Sutton is a cold case detective, bringing closure and justice to the victims of long-unsolved murders. She has a special skill for seeing things others have missed and finding order and calm as pieces of the mysteries fall into place. Her work is very much behind-the-scenes as she sifts through old files to uncover new information, so she is wholly unprepared for a chance encounter with a gunman in a department store while she is running a quick errand as her partner waits outside in their squad car. Summer is here! Friends of Chandler Public Library is happy to financially support the Library’s Summer Reading Challenge. Some of Chandler Public Library's most anticipated summer events are made possible through Friends' funding, including Rock & Read Together, Around the World Through Art, Grow Evolve Transform, Science Heroes, and so many others.

The Friends Bookshop kicks off Summer Reading with our popular Youth and Teen Used Book Sale! A special selection of books for young readers will be on sale at the Downtown and Sunset Library locations May 31 through June 13. Priced as marked. Used book purchases benefit Chandler Public Library programs and services. Shop and support!
