This Month's Featured Book Groups

Do you love reading and talking about what you've read? Join one of our Book Discussion Groups! We have groups at multiple library locations in Chandler, reading books of all sorts including genre fiction. Check out this month's featured groups!

Mystery Round Table
The third Monday of the month at 6:45 p.m.
Sunset Library
This long-running book group is one of the few in the Valley to specialize in the mystery genre. At our April 17 meeting, we're reading Homicide and Halo-Halo by Mia P. Manansala. Mystery Round Table is a hybrid group: meet in person at the Sunset Library, or register online to attend the meeting via Webex.

Romance Lover's Book Club
The third Tuesday of the month at 5 p.m.
Hamilton Library
If you love reading Romance, then this is the group for you. Join us for Hamilton's first-ever romance lover's book club. This group lets you choose any book you want to read on a theme, and the theme for the April 18 meeting is "enemies to lovers." Come to the Hamilton Library to talk about the book you read and why you chose it. More info.

Tips for Readers: Did you know?

Online Resource

Cloud Library

Ebooks and audio ebooks. Read at the Cloud Library website or download the app.

Have you checked out from CloudLibrary? You can get ebooks and audio ebooks free with your library card! Here are some of our most commonly asked questions about CloudLibrary:

  • How do I access ebooks and audio ebooks?
Just download the free CloudLibrary app for iOS, Android, or Kindle Fire, or learn how to download from the CloudLibrary website. Sign in with your library card and PIN numbers, then you'll be ready to check out!
  • How long can I have an ebook checked out?
Ebooks check out for two weeks. They automatically return themselves, or you can return them early if you're done with them. If you want to renew an ebook and there is no hold on it, your CloudLibrary app will give you that option 2 days before the due date.
  • How do I find an ebook that's not checked out? And why are they checked out?
Most publishers have a one-copy, one-user model, so if a copy is checked out it is unavailable for use, just like a print book. (You can place a hold on checked out ebooks!) If you want to browse for books that are currently available, go to your filters - in the menu bar or the dropdown menu - and change "All Titles" to "Available Now." You can also choose the Browse tab or Search/All tabs to view books by genre.
  • What if I'm traveling? Can I use CloudLibrary ebooks out of state/country?
Yes. It's best to fully download your ebook before you leave. If you need to check out, renew, or download an ebook while you're in a different time zone, try adjusting the time zone settings on your device.
  • What if I can't find an ebook I'm looking for?
Ebook availability is up to the publishers. To see if the publisher has made the book you want available to CloudLibrary, go to your filters - in the menu bar or the dropdown menu - and change "All Titles" to "Suggestions for Library." If you find your book, hit "Suggest to Library" to put in an order request.
  • Can I use my Kindle Paperwhite or other black-and-white Kindle reader?
Unfortunately, the black-and-white Kindle readers only use Amazon's proprietary format, and Amazon has not released this format for use by CloudLibrary.
